Bringing Text to Life Through Audio
At Sound of Text, we believe that hearing text adds an invaluable dimension to understanding language. That’s why we created a simple web-based tool that converts text into natural-sounding audio using state-of-the-art speech synthesis technology.
Our Origins
Sound of Text started as a personal project to add audio to flashcards. Our founder wanted a way to hear the text on his digital flashcards to aid memorization and linguistic comprehension. After realizing the wider potential benefits of text-to-speech audio conversion, Sound of Text was launched as a free web tool in 2023.
How Our Text-to-Speech Technology Works
We utilize the acclaimed Google Cloud Text-to-Speech API to power our text audio conversions. This advanced speech synthesis system uses deep learning and neural networks to generate natural-sounding vocal audio from text input. From fluid sentence structure to correct pronunciation, Google’s technology allows us to create high-quality voice audio seamlessly from written words.
Our Solution
With Sound of Text, all you need is text and an internet connection to start creating human-like audio. Our intuitive web interface makes it easy to paste or type any text snippet and play or download the resulting audio file in seconds. We support MP3 downloads to store and share anywhere.
Whether you want to proofread emails out loud, create audio versions of articles to consume information hands-free, improve pronunciation through vocalization, or bring accessibility tools to new mediums, Sound of Text aims to help convert text to audio seamlessly.
The Future is Sound
As a bootstrapped startup, we are committed to continuously improving Sound of Text and exploring new ways to apply speech synthesis for education, productivity, accessibility, and more. We are excited to help people engage with text in sound new ways!
